Anodized Titanium
Our in-house anodizing treatment starts with fully disassembling the watch. Case and bracelet components are ultrasonically cleaned, degreased, and rinsed. Steel parts are removed, and titanium components are treated with a specific voltage in an electrolytic bath, which forms a thin layer of titanium oxide on the metal surface.
The color is not paint but rather the result of how titanium oxide reflects and refracts light. Different colors can be achieved depending on the specific voltage and consequential thickness of the titanium oxide layer. More than just a color change, the titanium oxide layer is increasingly hypoallergenic, more corrosion-resistant, and 2-3 times harder than raw titanium, making your watch more resistant to surface scratches.
Variations in color hue are common during this process, especially in the bracelet, where steel screws and pins can impact the uniformity of current. To address this, we also incorporate flame anodizing on the bracelet and buckle. By heating the titanium to nearly 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, we can achieve the electric blue color as pictured. Other colors may be achieved on request (see buckle photo for possible colors).
Stand out from the crowd and turn your already nice watch into something completely unique.
