Longines Tre Tracche

Case: Excellent 35mm "Big step" case with thick and even lugs. It has been previously polished but does show some light signs of wear from use.  Batch reference 22243 on caseback and 55 on inside of lug.

Dial: Very rare original Longines gilt black dial with center sweep seconds hand. Difficult configuration to find. It is believed that this dial, although correct for the reference, was installed in the watch after it left the factory.

Movement: Excellent 12.68N (center seconds) movement in excellent condition with rhodium plated bridge plates, correct 4 tongue movement retaining ring, serial number 6365946 dating the watch to approximately 1942. Date of last service unknown but in good working order running within expected spec for the calibre.

Bracelet: Pigskin leather strap.

Notes: Difficult to find 35mm "Tre Tacche" references, and particularly difficult to find examples with center seconds and a gilt dial. These are very charming watches that were among the first water resistant watches with screw down casebacks.
